Our project in photos: Updated March 2009

The project begins. Our building site.

The children come to see the first of the earth being excavated from the site.

The site is built into a slope, and faces the road.

Work progresses swiftly. 4000 cubic metres of earth are excavated.

The basement foundations take shape.

Foundations of a new life for many girls.

The new building starts to join its neighbours.

Basement and ground floor are completed.

Strong walls rise: a refuge for those who are homeless.

The new building climbs higher.

The finished building will clearly be both attractive and welcoming.

Striking, yet fitting into its neighbourhood, the building is now 'topped off'.

The walls begin to take on their splendid outer coat – yet the glory will be within.

The home that will shelter so many gleams in its setting.
